Finally, a makeup advertisement addressing the fact that makeup is an ARTFORM, and isn’t only used to “hide your flaws”.
Did Maybelline install surveillance equipment in my house? All of these things are so perfect. And I like how the colors used in this aren’t muted, desaturated tones, but bright, “unnatural” colors. Because I don’t wear makeup to hide any sort of flaws. I wear bright colors, lay it on thick, because it’s fun and expressive.
Pause. Are these real? Actually commissioned by Maybelline? If they’re fakes, they’re damn awesome and make a really important point and Maybelline should jump on this shit. Doing my makeup, as a grad student, is one of my only opportunities I have to create (outside of writing, of course). Yeah, I’m trying to take up knitting, but fuck if I don’t have the patience (me? impatient? SURPRISE!). If these ads are not fake, then HOLLA MAYBELLINE Y’ALL ARE THE SHIT! Plus you make the best drugstore mascaras. On the real.

If I had one billion dollars I would buy a small city and turn it into Hound Town. Shelter dogs only. There would be a dog bank, dog salon, dog In-N-Out Burger and a Redbox.
There would also be a shelter cat city (CAT TOWN USA) a few miles away. City wide free Wi-Fi.
Maybe I should start a Kickstarer…
I thought I was sick of “Call Me Maybe” cards until I saw this.
I AM SO TIRED.
TELL ME ABOUT IT. I AM LITERALLY JUST EXHAUSTED, YOU KNOW?
WORN RIGHT OUT.
POOPED. THAT’S WHAT I AM. JUST PLAIN POOPED.
I MUST HAVE LOOKED AT A HUNDRED THOUSAND AVENGERS GIFS IN THE LAST HOUR.
OH MY GOD, I KNOW. I CAN’T EVEN COUNT THE NUMBER OF GOTYE REMIXES I LISTENED TO TODAY.
THE INTERNET IS HARD.
IT TAKES SOMETHING OUT OF YOU. IT REALLY DOES.

Reporter: I have a question to Robert and to Scarlett. Firstly to Robert, throughout Iron Man 1 and 2, Tony Stark started off as a very egotistical character but learns how to fight as a team. And so how did you approach this role, bearing in mind that kind of maturity as a human being when it comes to the Tony Stark character, and did you learn anything throughout the three movies that you made?
And to Scarlett, to get into shape for Black Widow did you have anything special to do in terms of the diet, like did you have to eat any specific food, or that sort of thing?
Scarlett: How come you get the really interesting existential question, and I get the like, “rabbit food” question?
The respect given to you if you’re a man in the entertainment business, and the respect given to you if you’re a woman in the entertainment business: all perfectly summed up in one idiotically thought out line of questioning.
